OUR STORY

Welcome to Sweet Talk bake shop!  We’re excited to bring you some of the finest American cookies, cakes and other delicious treats.  We imagine you’ve tried a muffin, cheesecake or maybe even a pancake—but have you ever tried one actually made by an American?  Having lived in Milan for the last three years we have often found ourselves craving the perfect chocolate chip cookie, but we discovered that the only place to find an authentic one was in our own kitchen.  After countless batches, our clothes suddenly felt smaller and we realized we couldn’t eat fifty cookies every time we made them to satisfy our craving.  We figured it was time to share with Milan.

Although we’ve been working as English teachers, we’ve always had the dream of opening a bakery.  We just thought it would be in California!  That all changed when two strapping Italian lads stole our hearts away.  Deciding to stay in Italy long term and not wanting to be English teachers forever, we had to adapt our ideas for our Italian home.

If you are craving sweets, this is the place to find them, whether you are having a birthday party, an office luncheon or just want to have something delicious on hand. Each week we’ll post a new American confection along with a photo and tips about our traditions. You can always order any of the items we’ve posted on the blog. IT’S ALL IN THE NAME

sweet talk (informal) verb.

to use charming words in order to persuade.

Spend a few minutes with us and you’ll realize a couple things: we love to talk and we love dessert. Talking while eating dessert is our version of heaven.  There’s nothing better than a long conversation over a plate of freshly baked cookies or a generous slice of triple-chocolate, fudge cake.  Clearly sweets and talking had to make it into the name of our bakery, thus Sweet Talk bake shop was born. We hope we won’t need to sweet talk you because we think our baked goods will speak for themselves.

HOW WELL CAN YOU COMMUNICATE

…in English that is!  Once a week we’ll be posting a question about English grammar for the chance to win some of our products.  At the end of the week, everyone who answers correctly will be put into a mixing bowl and a winner will be selected randomly.  Remember you must be a subscriber to win.
